Doposud provedeno bez úspěchu

I would like to share my experience with a problem vehicle that I worked on.

A friend brought the vehicle to my workshop with an electronic problem where the door lights are not working properly, the electric windows cannot be opened and the interior lights are not working.

The vehicle had about 20 DTCs and I didn't want to write them all out. The important DTC is that there is a communication problem between the doors on the CAN line.

I measured the power supply to the comfort circuit and no problem found.

I then connected an oscilloscope to the CAN line and I could see a short in the circuit. After that I disconnected all consumers that are connected to the CAN comfort circuit. Nothing changed and the short was still present. This was a signal that CAN-H has an open condition. I started to wiggle the wiring and the problem persisted and I located the position of the open very quickly.
Important not that without the oscilloscope it would be very difficult to locate the problem.
