The problems started with a EGR valve fault, that was diagnosed with the appropriate EGR DTC.
The owner removed the EGR valve and had the engine software modified for this option. After several hundred kms the DPF warning light turned ON and DTC P2458 was set in memory. Following this issue the owner restored the engine software modifications to original specification. The DTC persisted and the vehicle was in limp-home state. After this the owner installed a new OEM EGR valve including adaptation of the valve with VAG-COM diagnostic scan tool. The DTC set in memory could not be erased and service regeneration attempts were unsuccessful.
According to VAG the pressure in front of the DPF filter is 3-5 mBar at idle and around 20 mBar at 2000 rpm.
Actual pressure was measured with Testo 506 tester and corresponded with the VAG values. VAG saturation values of ash 30 g and soot 25 g.
